A Day in the Life of a Master in Marketing student at EADA Business School
May 25, 2026

Studying a full-time Master in Marketing at EADA Business School is both challenging and incredibly rewarding.  The workload is demanding, the pace is fast, and every week brings new opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow.  If you are considering a Master’s in Marketing at EADA, it can be helpful to understand what everyday student life really looks like beyond the brochure.

The Daily Routine and Classroom Environment

For those of us in the International Master in Marketing programme, the schedule is quite consistent. Classes usually take place in the morning, from 09:15 to 12:15 every day, and students are expected to arrive on time, prepared and ready to participate. Preparation usually includes case studies, technical readings, articles, and videos. This means that learning does not start when class begins - it starts beforehand.

During class, the professors combine lectures, interactive discussions and practical exercises. We spend a lot of time debating the preparation materials and working through small group exercises. Participation is an important part of the experience and our grade, which creates a very dynamic environment.

I also value the international atmosphere, as everyone brings their own insights to the table, which makes for a strong class climate.Since many students are not native English speakers, there is a lot of mutual respect and support. It is a safe space to share ideas, make mistakes and learn together - we simply help each other out.

Group Work and Professional Collaboration

Collaboration is at the heart of the EADA methodology. We work in stable groups that rotated throughout the Master’s, which is a practical way to experience different work styles and cultural perspectives. You quickly realize that everyone has a different approach to time management and problem-solving. Being open to these differences is essential; you learn a lot about your own working preferences, how to adapt, listen and work toward shared goals. Because presentations are frequent, you get used to public speaking very quickly. The initial nerves fade away, and it becomes a standard, comfortable part of your skill set.

Practical Learning: The Disruptive Innovation Challenge

One of the most practical projects we’ve done was the Disruptive Innovation Challenge - a three-day entrepreneurship sprint focused on developing a disruptive business idea and presenting it to a professional panel. It was a very short, intense timeframe that required a lot of creativity, teamwork and quick decision-making. It was one of the most effective ways to apply classroom theories to a "real-world" scenario. Seeing the different ideas from other groups was also very inspiring.

Student Life Beyond the Classroom

Outside the classroom, life in Barcelona offers a perfect balance to the academic intensity. The city is a vibrant hub for international students, and EADA Business School is located right in the heart of the city centre, making it easy to fully experience everything Barcelona has to offer. In addition, the school frequently hosts career events and guest speakers that allow us to network with industry professionals and gain exposure to different career paths.

Beyond the professional side, social life is a huge part of the experience. Whether it’s grabbing tapas after school or exploring the city’s many cultural landmarks on the weekend, there is always something going on. From visiting the Sagrada Familia and hiking in Montjuïc to enjoying a lunch by the sea or a sunset at the beach, the city provides endless ways to recharge and enjoy the city.

Practical Tips for New Students

Based on my experience so far, here are a few takeaways for anyone starting a Master’s at EADA Business School in Barcelona:

  • Structure your day: Use your time outside class wisely to stay organised and keep ahead of deadlines.
  • Do less, better: You cannot do everything perfectly. Focus first on the tasks that matter most and start there.
  • Be open to different styles: You will work with people who collaborate differently. Accepting these differences often leads to the most successful group projects.
  • Don't fear the language barrier: Everyone is in the same boat. Focus on contributing to the class discussion with your ideas rather than worrying about perfect English.
  • Stay creative: Even under pressure and a tight schedule, creativity and curiosity make the learning experience far more meaningful.

What stands out most is how much this experience develops you beyond academics. Studying a Master’s in Marketing at EADA Business School is intense, but it is also exciting, practical, and deeply rewarding.
