EADA collaborates with Alira Health to launch the Annabel de Maria Memorial Scholarship
EADA Business School will take part in the inaugural edition of the Annabel de Maria Memorial Scholarship, an initiative launched by Alira Health to recognise and support outstanding students committed to transforming healthcare and improving patient outcomes.
The scholarship, which will be awarded annually, has been established in memory of Annabel de Maria, Alira Health's former Chief Patient Officer and a passionate advocate of patient-centred healthcare. Throughout her career, she championed the integration of patients' perspectives into healthcare innovation and was deeply committed to nurturing talent and developing the next generation of leaders.
In its first year, the scholarship will be open to students from EADA and ESADE enrolled in eligible healthcare-related programmes. Following an initial review by each institution, shortlisted candidates will be assessed by an independent selection committee comprising distinguished leaders from the healthcare, life sciences, patient engagement and academic communities.
Launching the programme in Barcelona holds particular significance, as it was the city where Annabel de Maria spent much of her professional career. Through this initiative, Alira Health aims to honour her legacy by supporting future leaders who will help shape a more innovative, compassionate and collaborative healthcare ecosystem.
The scholarship will recognise students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, intellectual curiosity and a strong commitment to making a meaningful difference to healthcare and the lives of patients.
Applications will be managed through the admissions offices of EADA and ESADE, which will coordinate the submission and initial evaluation of applications before forwarding nominated candidates to the independent selection committee.
By participating in this initiative, EADA reinforces its commitment to developing responsible leaders and preparing professionals who are equipped to address the major challenges facing the healthcare sector through innovation, ethical leadership and a people-centred approach.
